Une passionnée du fromage en lice aux Swiss Cheese Awards 2024
Les Swiss Cheese Awards 2024 se tiendront du 4 au 6 octobre à Lugano. Cette compétition prestigieuse mettra en lumière une participante exceptionnelle : Daniela Weber. Jeune, dynamique et innovante, elle est la première et unique femme à diriger une fromagerie de Gruyère AOP.
Tous les deux ans, à l’automne, le monde du fromage suisse se réunit pour les Swiss Cheese Awards. Plus de 1000 variétés de fromages suisses, réparties en plus de 30 catégories, sont dégustées et évaluées par environ 200 jurés experts selon des critères stricts. Les meilleures spécialités fromagères suisses sont alors récompensées. Cette année, les Swiss Cheese Awards se dérouleront pour la treizième fois et pour la première fois à Lugano. Le 4 octobre 2024, les meilleurs fromagers du pays seront honorés au Palazzo dei Congressi. Parmi les quelque 30 gagnants de catégories, un « Super-Jury » désignera les trois meilleurs fromages, les couronnant Champions Suisses. Les festivités ne se limiteront pas au Palazzo dei Congressi ; les amateurs de fromage pourront également profiter du Festa d’Autunno avec son grand marché du fromage dans la vieille ville.
DANIELA WEBER, UNE PIONNIÈRE DU SECTEUR
Parmi les plus de 300 fromagers participants se trouve Daniela Weber. À 28 ans, cette Bernoise a repris une fromagerie de Gruyère AOP il y a quatre ans, devenant ainsi la première femme à occuper cette position. Daniela Weber découvre sa passion pour le métier de technologue du lait lors d’un stage à la fromagerie d’Amsoldingen. Elle y fait son apprentissage et obtient ensuite son brevet et sa maîtrise. En 2020, elle reprend la fromagerie de Wünnewil, devenant la première femme de la région Berne-Fribourg à diriger une fromagerie affiliée à l’IPG, avec succès grâce à sa détermination et à la qualité de son Gruyère AOP. En 2023, Daniela reprend la fromagerie de Guin, collaborant avec une dizaine de producteurs de lait et veillant rigoureusement à la qualité des produits. Elle décrit son Gruyère AOP comme ayant un goût pur, grâce à la très bonne qualité de lait fourni par les producteurs locaux. Chaque année, la fromagerie transforme ainsi environ 2,3 millions de litres de lait pour produire 220 tonnes de Gruyère AOP.
UNE VISION NOVATRICE
Pour cette jeune femme, qui a grandi dans une ferme, la gestion de sa propre fromagerie est la réalisation d’un rêve. Lorsqu’on lui demande ce que cela signifie pour elle, elle répond : « Je ressens le besoin de prouver davantage pour obtenir la même reconnaissance. Je pense aussi que je suis plus observée en tant que femme que mes collègues masculins. » Pourtant, elle est convaincue que « Une femme qui fournit autant d’efforts qu’un homme peut occuper exactement la même position. » Inspirant de nombreuses jeunes femmes dans le secteur, Daniela Weber s’engage également dans la formation des nouveaux talents.
UNE STRATÉGIE DU SUCCÈS
Daniela Weber incarne une philosophie de travail alliant passion, rigueur et innovation. Pour elle, le fromage est plus qu’un simple produit alimentaire ; c’est un héritage culturel à préserver et à partager. Interrogée sur son secret de réussite, Daniela Weber répond : « Amour, passion et finesse. » Elle a déjà prouvé qu’une femme peut réussir dans un secteur encore largement dominé par les hommes. Reste à voir si son fromage sera désigné meilleur de Suisse en octobre aux Swiss Cheese Awards à Lugano.
